3d Trace

The 3d view has two statistics windows.

Still here? Ok, read on: yes, tracert and ping does the basic job. But it is only the basic job, nothing more. No advanced feature, no tool, nothing. But let me compare both traceroutes:

• Tracert does one trace snapshot with three pings each hop. After every hop you have to wait for name resolving. Then you see the core numbers and have to imagine the virtual picture the number tell you to analyse it.
• 3d Traceroute does one trace in one sequence. No waiting. When the name resolver thread has got the domain names they will be included. 3D Traceroute traces continuously, so it is not the snapshot-like data. The diagram creates a visual feeling for the data, peeks show certain situations that need an interpretation. The list shows the core data like tracert, so you have it both. And day and night-trace can create condensed data showing the big picture.

So its not only eye candy. Of course it is eye candy. But who said that tools must always look like tracert and ping?
