There has been a sabbatical in 3d Traceroute developement. Simply put: other things had to be done. Now developement will continue.

• Some raw socket optimizations
• fetching URLS from IE78 and Firefox works again
• XPI changed for Firefox 2.x
• Atom Time Sync can read the new Stratum data
• fixed some problems with Windows Vista
• Teraview has been updated, too.

Woops, I did it again: Free beta!

It has all the fixes and all the new free features the pro customers
already got.

  Software Quality Test Program (Yeah! Really hot hot hooooot stuff!).
  Could cause access problems or not reading/writing settings

3d Traceroute starts another beta phase with new features for PRO users. "Beta" means it is at least stable enough to give it a try. Most of the time it will work, even casual users will benefit from these new feature.

New features are:

• smart Whois server support
• gui enhancement
• new column INFO

Smart Whois

Whois support has been greatly enhanced. Now 3d Traceroute PRO has a Smart Whois that finds the valid whois server for most domains automatically. It can query the 'good old style' whois servers and even the modern HTTP-style servers. This is very convenient, no more hassling with looking up a whois server or query via overcrowded slow meta-whois servers.

Gui Enhancement

Some more modern features. Eye candy that turns the usage experience into more fun. In case you find them annoying you can turn them off.

New Column "INFO"

The new column INFO is some sort of a stopgap solution. It will flag IPs that are in AOLs IP range or are in SATellite-based ISPs. It might soon display more info from various sources. (Create a column for every information? It would end with lots of columns...)

Some small enhancement like doubleclick action in "as list" view. And some cosmetic things.
