Watch and Notify

Watch and Notify monitors hosts with pings and web servers by requesting web pages.

Watch and Notify allows to

• perform a ping
• do a HTTP or HTTPS GET or HEAD
• within individual time frames and
• raise a notification or
• mail a collected error report.
• The collected data can be shown in an diagram.

Mail settings

To use the mail interface within Watch and Notify you need to configure the mail settings of 3d Traceroute. Switch to the settings panel and select "Mail settings".

If you do not enter a smart host 3d Traceroute will try to find the MX of the recipient.

If you do not enter the from adress 3d Traceroute will generate "3d Traceroute Timeout Notifier <no.mail@domain.invalid>" as sender and this might no be accepted by any mail system.
